Sarah completed her Masters Degree in Human Development and Family Science with a concentration in Marriage and Family Therapy at the University of Central Missouri. Prior to that, she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Child and Family Development with a minor in Psychology from the University of Central Missouri. Sarah has experience working with children, teens, individuals, couples, and families. Sarah takes a person-centered approach to therapy in which she believes that all individuals naturally move towards growth and that the therapeutic relationship plays a major role in the healing process. She believes in the importance of creating a supportive and trusting environment in the therapy room that is conducive to change. Sarah values acceptance, safety, autonomy, hope, and empowerment. She views therapy as a journey that is unique to everyone and that clients are the expert on their story and life experiences. Sarah enjoys working with adults, couples, families and teens using Narrative and Solution Focused Therapy models. She also enjoys working with children and their parents using the child-centered play therapy model. She believes in the importance of offering an accepting therapeutic space in which children can use play to express their inner world and work through challenges. Sarah is being supervised by Melissa Winston, MS, LMFT-S, LCMFT-S.
