Graduate interns are students who are currently enrolled and finalizing their degrees as therapists. The graduate internship process is the last leg of a graduate school program where students are receiving hands-on practical training in the field of therapy. 510 Graduate interns are carefully selected and closely supervised to ensure that our clients are getting great care! Interns are with 510 for a limited time (usually 6-12 months depending on their respective program), but they provide sessions at a significantly reduced rate – often less than an insurance co-pay – $40.00. Interns are under the supervision of experienced, licensed therapists. So it’s kind of like a 2 for 1 deal! 😊
Julia was born and raised in southern California and has been living in Kansas City for the past 3 years. Julia has her B.A. in Psychology from Life Pacific University and is currently pursuing her Masters in Counseling Psychology at Avila University. Over the years Julia has worked with young children, children, teenagers, and adults in different settings. Julia has had a variety of experience working with these different age groups both as individuals and as family units. As a Counseling intern, it is Julia’s goal to work with families and help them to communicate with one another, have a deeper understanding for one another, and overall strengthen families to be the best that they can be. Julia is especially interested in working with children and teens. Therapy can be challenging and difficult to get through at times. Julia believe that the work that you put in is worth it! Through a safe space to process, people can work to become the best version of themselves.

My name is Sarah Coldiron and I am beginning my second year working towards my Master’s degree in Human Development and Family Science with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy at the University of Central Missouri. As an undergrad at the University of Central Missouri, I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Child and Family Development with a minor in Psychology. I have five years of experience working with children and their families in the community. I have worked with the Adventure Club after school program in Warrensburg as a Social Emotional Learning Specialist (SEL) and Mentor. I designed and implemented various activities to foster kids’ self esteem and enhance their emotional awareness and coping skills. I believe in the value of including families when working with kids and found different ways to integrate parents and enhance the whole family’s experience in the program. My goal as a therapist is to create a safe and inclusive environment for my clients to have their voices heard and feel valued and understood. I am interested in working with adolescents and their families, as well as using play therapy with children of all ages. I am very excited to be working with 510 Counseling and I look forward to being a support for individuals and families as they grow on their journey. is supervised by Melissa Winston, MS, LMFT- S, LCMFT-S.
