Karlee is a recent graduate of Avila University and has earned her Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology. She is currently a Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor supervised by Sarah Russell, LPC-S, RPT (license: MO 2022028933). Karlee has a wide range of experience working with many populations and age ranges, but now primarily works with children 13 and younger. During her collegiate career, Karlee was able to work under the supervision of multiple licensed play therapists and received lots of hands-on training/guidance in the domains of play and art therapy. Karlee continues to be under the supervision of licensed play-therapist(s) to promote continual expansion of knowledge in regards to therapeutic approaches and overall advancements within the field. Karlee’s main therapeutic orientation is client-centered-therapy, as she is driven by the motto of “meeting clients exactly where they are” during each and every session. Alongside of this, she incorporates many CBT techniques to not only encourage mental exploration/growth but also to help reshape one’s behavioral patterns as well. Where it's appropriate with children, she uses Child-Centered Play Therapy. Karlee is extremely passionate about helping individuals find balance and contentment within their lives and often uses creative outlets for self-expression. Karlee believes communication is the key to success in most everything and treats her therapy sessions like a collaborative experience that encourages positive change and healing in unique and individualized ways. Karlee does not work with court-involved cases with children and their families and will not testify unless ordered to do so by a judge. She desires to create a safe space for kids and does not want to compromise that with court testimony unless required to do so.
