Jess earned her Master of Science in Counseling from the University of Central Missouri after six years of experience working with children, teens, and families in both community mental health and school environments. She is currently a counselor-in-training in the state of Missouri and is a Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor. She is most passionate about walking alongside those who are navigating grief. She works with individuals of all ages experiencing anxiety, depression, and shifts in direction—whether it’s a career change, exploring identity, or simply feeling stuck and wanting something different. She works from a person-centered approach and incorporates techniques from acceptance and commitment therapy, solution-focused brief therapy, and motivational interviewing. During times that can feel overwhelming or uncertain, Jess offers a steady, supportive space where the counseling relationship is the foundation. She lives in Grain Valley and is committed to the community she calls home. She enjoys spending time with her husband and son, cheering on the Chiefs, and curling up with her dogs with coffee and book in hand. Her goal is to create a warm, comfortable environment where her clients feel understood, supported, and empowered to grow at their own pace. Jess is supervised by Nate Rayburn, MA, LPC-S.

Jess is able to submit insurance claims on behalf of clients with Cigna and Aetna through supervisory billing. She can create a superbill for clients to submit to their insurance for out of network benefits for any other payors. It is wise to check with your insurance company to see if out of network benefits are available to you before beginning therapy services, as all costs will need to be paid up front and reimbursement sought.
